[Bug 1598868] Re: growisofs bug
I burnt one DVD+R fine, the second failed (using k3b). After the failure the media displayed like: Media current: DVD+R Media status : is blank Media summary: 0 sessions, 0 data blocks, 0 data, 4483m free Drive current: -outdev '/dev/sr0' Drive type : vendor 'HL-DT-ST' product 'DVDRAM GH22NS40' revision 'NL00' Drive id : 'K0I8AQ00232 ' Media current: DVD+R Media product: RITEK/F16/49 , Ritek Corp Media status : is blank Media blocks : 0 readable , 2295104 writable , 2295104 overall Media summary: 0 sessions, 0 data blocks, 0 data, 4483m free I tried four more media from the same batch, to no avail. As it appeared to be media/burner-problem, I shut down the pc and started again, that did the trick. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598868 Title: growisofs bug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dvd+rw-tools/+bug/1598868/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1647187] Re: gnome-software crashed with signal 5 in g_main_context_new()
This happened to me after I installed tuxboot from a deb package using dpkg -i ... . The software installed but claimed to be incomplete because the p7zip-fill package was missing which in turn depended on a i386-library. I declined to install i386 lib on 64-bit system because I was not sure about the effects and te use of it (as a matter of, the installation did not offer to install the mossing package, I just did not do it). After that, my Ubuntu 16.04 issued the message above each time the computer started until I removed tuxboot again using "sudo dpkg -P tuxboot". I found that I was better off without it and managed to create the usb stick I needed using the start media creator tool that comes with Ubuntu (initially I installed tuxboot for that purpose it claimed to be superior to all other tools, which I had unfortunately no chance to confirm) Hope that helps or you found it entertaining at least. [Bug 899885] [NEW] File rename (e.g. using F2) accepts 2 characters only
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 9.10 Release:9.10 Nautilus 2.28.1 Press F2 to rename a file or folder, nautilus displays file or foldername as editable, highlight part of name to be changed, start entering replacement text, after 2 characters input nautilus will change to a different file loosing changes already made. Hence, editing names of file or folders is not possible in the quoted version of nautilus in either list or symbol view. I find that a bit restrictive for an ubuntu desktop user. [Bug 157044] Re: slow photo printing since upgrading Feisty to Gutsy
Hi all, I can not tell, if my problem is related or a new one. The PC I use has a 2,4 Ghz AMD CPU and 512 MB of memory. The printer is a Canon S520, attached to a mini-printserver over LAN. All windows PCs in the network are printing like a charm, unlike the Ubuntu Karmic PC (above), that takes very long time to print pictures (bw A4, for instance) or OO documents (haven't seen it printing an image yet in fact). Since I am sharing this unpleasant experience with one of my children and have to print his homework on a windows machine, the pressure on me is really high to get this fixed. -- slow photo printing since upgrading Feisty to Gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 403408] Re: Grub 2 problem, error: no such device
I think that the information management in this thread is even worse than the user experience caused by the above bug. Although I appreciate the numerous hints to circumvent the problem, but only very little information is provided about the nature and the cause of the bug. Is the problem caused by IDE drives, by large partitions, maybe an IDE boot drive as a slave (in my case). If I knew more, I could vary more parameters instead changing lines in files I do not understand. I am also reading with mixed feelings Debian bugs watcher's statement, that the problem was fixed. Even if it is, it does not make a difference to me, because Ubuntu 9.10 would work after an install on a clean disk for me. I would have exptected more insight and help from this source. Recently I installed 9.10 on a different system. This particular problem did not occur (small master IDE drive), but DVDs would not play due to an unfixed problem in the video subsystem. Two mainstream problems make me think that I'd better install the LTS version - stale. -- Grub 2 problem, error: no such device https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403408 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
