Ubuntu Netbook 10.10 Unity is a wonderful desktop at the first look. But I can't install it on my netbook. I tried to create a usb stick with unetbootin from PartedMagic 5.6 and after from Sabayon and was successful, but the install process crash near the end. Testing the disk (usb) I obtain the result that there is a file error. I tried to download again, but I have the same error. I create the startup usb stick with the Ubuntu utility, but at boot time it say Unknown keyword in configuration file. If I run Juk(Amarok, Dragon Player), no sound from these programs. 3. Kmplayer, Smplayer, Mplayer cant both play movies at the same time with different sounds from each of them. 4. Juk is palying music. If I use Dragon Player to play a movie, I get not sound from Dragon Player. The notification pop up and say: audio playback device HDA INTEL ALC262 analog does not work, fallback to. Actually it fallback to nothing that works. I checked the Multimedia (in system setting) , I got HDA Intel (ALC262 Analog) PulseAudio these two Output Device Preference in the all the Audio Output Categories. PulseAudio doesn't work when I click test button, it'll automatically fallback to HDA Intel (ALC262 Analog). (when I click the test button to test, I can hear that there's a delay and a bit noise at the beginning) 5. If I'm using any application that plays sound, clicking the test button gets no sound. 6. After a connection network-manager override my modified version /etc/resolv.conf with another one: # Generated by NetworkManager nameserver 195.128.182.40 nameserver 195.128.182.41 How can I stop this behavior? Problem: I admin a multiuser kubuntu installation. If I want other users to use kppp to access the internet dialup I must include them in the admin group. I think it was a better behaviour if users included in dialout group or dip group can use kppp, even if they are not in the admin group. I upgraded from kubuntu intrepid to jaunty with update-notifier-kde. At reboot no plasma-widget-networkmanager installed. No way to install it with kubuntu, because no internet connection utility for my 3G usb. Neither KPPP worked.
