[Bug 125344] Re: package ubuntu-minimal failed to install/upgrade:

2007-08-17 Thread ssmerche
This bug appears to be related to the tzdata bug and I was able to
upgrade to gutsy by following the workaround instructions for that bug.
The workaround is that you change your timezone to Europe/Berlin and
then do the upgrade to gutsy or if you just did a failed upgrade, you
change your timezone to Europe/Berlin and do a dpkg --configure -a.

Here is the address of the tzdata bug:

[Bug 129847] Re: totem-plugin-viewer crashed with signal 5

2007-08-13 Thread ssmerche
I've been getting this crash when trying to view videos on stage6 (divX
web player/mully plugin for gstreamer). The stack trace is the same
apparently, but the affected plugin is different.

[Bug 67848] Re: user is not informed if there is not enough power for usb devices

2006-12-19 Thread ssmerche
This bug also effects Linksys WUSB54GS devices. Forcing the device to run
using a workaround detailed in this thread:
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=1313658#post1313658
(bottom of first post) does not seem to have any negative effects on the
system. The user needs to be given the option to turn this off in addition to
being notified.

[Bug 67848] Re: user is not informed if there is not enough power for usb devices

2006-12-19 Thread ssmerche
Other bug reports related to this issue claim that the problem is only
with unpowered usb hubs. I've plugged my Linksys WUSB54GS into my
computer and the kernel still deactivates it. Other people have run
into the same problem as noted in the thread I linked to in my previous
post.
