[Bug 297607] Re: Firefox and Epiphany-gecko crashes with Segmentation Fault

2008-11-21 Thread stronger
The problem is caused by totem-mozilla. Removing it brings Firefox back
to life.

$ sudo apt-get remove --purge totem-mozilla

[Bug 297607] [NEW] Firefox and Epiphany-gecko crashes with Segmentation Fault

2008-11-13 Thread stronger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox segfaults just a second after launched. Removing ~/.mozilla
helped slightly, it shows up and opens some pages but crashes often.
Also, it segfaults every time I try to open Preferences window.

Epiphany-gecko segfaults whenever a page is opened. It starts rendering
page and before it's done it crashes. I can open Preferences dialog
without problems.

Running it from command line does not give any output other than just
Segmentation fault.

$ apt-cache show firefox | grep Version
Version: 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2

$ apt-cache show epiphany-browser | grep Version
Version: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1

$ apt-cache show xulrunner | grep Version
Version: 1.8.1.16+nobinonly-0ubuntu1

$ uname -a
Linux uglybox 2.6.27-8-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 6 17:33:54 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

It was fine just before last upgrade.

[Bug 262693] Re: Flash not working: Intrepid, 2.6.27, FF3

2008-11-03 Thread stronger
I just peeked at dmesg output and found a single line:

[ 1132.514942] libflashplayer.[9116]: segfault at 9517a4 ip b772b136 sp
bfe4c6c4 error 4 in libflashplayer.so[b76fc000+951000]

There is only one line like that, despite I was running flash over and
over again.

[Bug 262693] Re: Flash not working: Intrepid, 2.6.27, FF3

2008-11-03 Thread stronger
I tried reinstalling flashplugin-nonfree several times, even installing
it manually using provided Adobe installer. No success. If I run firefox
from terminal I get

LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so [libnss3.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so [libnss3.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so [libnss3.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory]

everyting I try to open a web page with flash on it. The about:plugins
do not show Flash plugin on the list. Removing ~/.mozilla didn't make
any difference.

And didn't have much success with Gnash and swfdec either, as they are
not production ready.

[Bug 240981] [NEW] OpenOffice.org freezes right after start

2008-06-18 Thread stronger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

OpenOffice.org freezes immediately after splash screen disappears. User
interface is rendered half way. It happens no matter which OO.org
component I start. I can recreate the problem at my work and home
machines. Both run Ubuntu 8.04 with latest updates. Removing
~/.openoffice.org2/ does not help. Stdout and stderr are blank.

[Bug 224111] Re: package foomatic-filters 3.0.2-20071204-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: files list file for package `libice-dev' is missing final newline

2008-05-12 Thread stronger
I run into similar problem again. These are last lines from apt-get upgrade
output:
Preconfiguring packages ...
(Reading database ... dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/bash_3.2-0ubuntu17_i386.deb (--unpack):
 files list file for package `libice-dev' is missing final newline
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/bash_3.2-0ubuntu17_i386.deb
Processing was halted because there were too many errors.
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I tried purging apt cache via apt-get clean and removing
/var/cache/apt/pkgcache.bin but it didn't help.
