[Bug 1310044] [NEW] Touchpad horizontal swipe not working
Public bug reported: In previous versions of Ubuntu (12.04, 12.10, 13.04, 13.10) the horizontal scrolling worked using a 2 finger swipe on my touchpad. However, after upgrading to 14.04 I can no longer scroll left/right using my touchpad. NOTE: Scrolling vertical up/down with 2 finger swipe is still working correctly. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: xchat (Ubuntu) = ubuntu ** Summary changed: - trackpad swipe not working + Touchpad swipe not working ** Summary changed: - Touchpad swipe not working + Touchpad horizontal swipe not working -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1310044 Title: Touchpad horizontal swipe not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1310044/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 634806] Re: Unity launcher creates multiple instances of Xchat when it's in the background
In 13.04 I am experiencing the same. When I click the X to close xchat the close dialog opens and I check the box to mimimize the tray, but instead it seems to go away. When I look in the notification area xchat is there, but not marked as already running. When I click xchat it opens a new window and logs in as one of my backup user. However, the previously opened xchat still seems to be running in the background somewhere. (In the new xchat instance I can see my other user still active, even after an hour or more of the previous xchat instance disappearing.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/634806 Title: Unity launcher creates multiple instances of Xchat when it's in the background To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/634806/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 989372] Re: 12.04 usb drive boot graphic problems
The original USB drive I used to install 12.04 was created on Lucid, and did not work well on my system. However, it did work on another laptop I have. (the initial load screen did not work and I still only saw the grey rectangle in the lower left corner, but the Ubuntu screen and afterwards worked fine.) After installing on the second laptop I created a new USB drive from that system. (This was creating a boot USB drive using 12.04.) Then using that new USB drive I had a different experience. Upon booting the Dell 1720 with the new USB drive the initial boot screen came up and I continued to boot up as a LiveCD. The Ubuntu screen came up fine, and then the prompt came up asking if I wanted to Install or Try. I chose Try, and then the screen went into black and white stripes with a garbled mess. So the Try option did not work. Second try I selected Install from the boot screen and the install process went fine. I now have a fully functional running 12.04 OS on the Dell 1720, even though the LiveCD option would only display garbled graphics. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/989372 Title: 12.04 usb drive boot graphic problems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/989372/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 989372] [NEW] 12.04 usb drive boot graphic problems
Public bug reported: I am trying to boot from a USB drive containing 12.04. I created the boot disk from 10.04. When I boot from the USB drive instead of seeing the boot screen to select boot options (install, run from disc, etc.) I see a black screen with a grey square in the lower left corner of my screen. If I cursor down to where install is and select the install screen displays fine. If instead I wait out the boot screen and the OS continues to load I get a garbled screen filled with neon colored patterns, and nothing else is viewable. If I right click or move the mouse around the screen there are many changes in the patterns, but still nothing viewable except the neon garbled mess. (however I can flip over to terminal and it works fine.) I also had graphic issues with Natty and Oneiric, so have resorted to reinstalling and staying on Lucid. Would really like to find out why newer versions of Ubuntu (running Unity, though not sure if that is the issue) do not work well on this laptop though, since it is not old and is a pretty powerful laptop. Thanks Bellegarde, the Debian files worked for me. First I uninstalled the libsynfigapp0 and synfigstudio using Synaptic, then installed the two files downloaded from Debian. [Bug 343727] Re: [Jaunty] Cannot connect to a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000
I can confirm the bug with a Microsoft Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 on my Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop with Dell 355 Bluetooth module. My mouse worked with Feisty, Gutsy, Hardy, Intrepid, but NOT with Jaunty. (Feisty and Gutsy took some playing, but then were stable. Hardy and Intrepid was pretty automatic, and stable.) I tried the workaround and while the mouse was taken out of pairing mode it still didn't work. After it didn't work I un-paired it and now cannot get it to pair again using the same methods. I tried adding HIDD_ENABLED=1 to the /etc/default/bluetooth file, but as other pointed out that makes no difference. I am still mouse-less. -- [Jaunty] Cannot connect to a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343727 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 343727] Re: [Jaunty] Cannot connect to a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000
I keep trying what everyone else suggests, but still no connection. I have resorted to using the MS Dongle that came with the mouse. Putting the mouse into pairing mode, then the dongle also in pairing mode works. I now have use of the mouse. Too bad the integrated Bluetooth module no longer works. I was spoiled with the last 4 Ubuntu releases, because I didn't need to use the MS Dongle. -- [Jaunty] Cannot connect to a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343727 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
