Re: [Bug 662498] Re: PiTiVi split button not working
Both had Pitivi installed by default and I also tried to reinstall it using Ubuntu Software Center or sudo aptitude... but the app still does not work. Please make sure to use the version 0.14 of pitivi (see the pitivi website for the link to the PPA for it). I have all gstreamer packages installed and I am trying to edit a mp3 formated song. If I open Pitivi from terminat, I get the following message: ** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GstObject) That particular warning message is harmless, you can ignore that one. Re: [Bug 662498] Re: PiTiVi split button not working
I made the message on the yellow background go away by importing a clip, but Render Project or Timeline menu items are all disabled. Did you actually drag clips from the media library to the timeline? (and yes, your descriptions of the problem are vague enough that I have no choice but to ask those redundant questions and answers). In any case you should file a separate bug report if you can come up with precise instructions for reproducing your bug or at least a screencast of it. The installed version is 0.13.5 , why isn't a default Ubuntu app installed using a working version? Why don't I get PiTiVi update to 0.14 with the update manager? Why doesn't the Ubuntu Software Center point me to the last version of PiTiVi ? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates Feel free to tell Ubuntu to change their update policy, or switch to a distro that has a more relaxed update policy, such as Fedora or Arch. Why isn't there a PPA, .deb, or install.sh on PiTiVi.org? There is a PPA on www.pitivi.org. As a developer, I consider that default installed apps MUST have work versions.
