[Bug 1192028] Re: Compiz refresh rate resets to 50 Hz automatically
The system is still usable. I think that users that do not watch (HD) videos or play animated games will not notice this bug at all. On the other hand, users that do all this things and are used to e.g. smooth video playback (from e.g. 12.04) will be very disappointed about this (quality regression) bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1192028 Title: Compiz refresh rate resets to 50 Hz automatically To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1192028/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1129410] [NEW] When using Window Spread, a maximized window changes its size
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: - open a window (e.g. Home Folder window) - maximize the window - press Super + W to trigger the window spread feature. What I expect to happen: - a thumbnail view of the maximized window is displayed What happened instead: - the logic height of the window is decreased by ~30px and a thumbnail view is displayed This is easily measurable by choosing in nautilus a folder with lots of files and selecting list view mode. at least 2 rows are not displayed in the thumbnail view. Why this is important: When your use e.g. Virtualbox and the window is maximized, using the window spread feature causes a change of resolution in the Virtualbox guest OS. (causes flickering, movement of windows within the guest and other pains). Exiting the window spread causes again a change of resolution. [Bug 857294] Re: Creating hotspot leads to endless connect/disconnect loop
I found a workaround to this issue: - kill any running dnsmasq process. (or restart computer afterwards) - Disable IPv6 in the Hotspot settings. (IPv6: Ignore) - restart the Hotspot --- The default settings of the Hotspot in Oneiric are: - IPv4: Shared with other Computers - IPv6: Automatic When selecting IPv6: Ignore everything works as expected. [Bug 766612] Re: nfs mount points do not appear in the unity launcher and there is no way to add them manually
I came across this bug while testing oneiric, and something changed: x) With natty, everything mounted in /media appeared on the desktop. (does not matter if automounted or in fstab/manual) x) With oneiric, generally nothing mounted appears on the desktop. (I think this is by design) - USB-Sticks, external drives, other partitions [auto]mounted in /media appear in the launcher and inside a nautilus window in section Devices - SMB or NFS Shares mounted in /media via fstab appear inside nautilus in section Computer BUT NOT in the launcher - SMB Shares mounted via Browse Network inside appear in section Network, nothing in the Launcher. I like the old behaviour more. (one click instead of opening nautilus and selecting shortcut) Keep in mind: This behaviour is for users who edit their /etc/fstab files and expect, when the mountpoint is on /media, a icon somewhere on the left side of their Desktop appears, representing(and pointing) to that mount. If the mount should be hidden, they can use /mnt anyway. I think the user should be able to decide if there is a icon of a manual mount on the launcher or not. The default setting of the launcher is Show Devices: Only Mounted, so I does not think that we have a problem with clutter Even in GNOME SHELL, SMB shares mounted via fstab appear directly on the Desktop in the right bottom. (label: Removable device) ** Changed in: unity Status: Incomplete = Confirmed ** Summary changed: - nfs mount points do not appear in the unity launcher and there is no way to add them manually + nfs and smb mount points do not appear in the unity launcher and there is no way to add them manually ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/766612 Title: nfs and smb mount points do not appear in the unity launcher and there is no way to add them manually To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/766612/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 776435] Re: Window maximizes on the wrong workspace
I can reproduce this bug in Oneiric. it seems when over the half of the window is overlapping to another workspace, the bug appears. I made some research: - using Ubuntu 10.04 with desktop effects enabled, I can reproduce this bug. so I think, this particular bug is older than unity. (compiz only) I have not found any old bug reports referring to this issue (yet), so I think nobody ran into this issue in the past (before unity). WHY? 2 theories: In pre-Unity Ubuntu releases, - The default window placement (for new opened windows) was better, so no one had to maximize overlapping windows, because the windows opened non-overlapping. - The typical usage of windows changed with unity (e.g. new users, not familiar with unity features, push windows to the side of the screen to get to the program below, instead of using unity launcher to do that. In natty I can say that the window placement is not ideal and this bug appears very often. I have not tried oneiric for intensive use yet, eventually the window placement is better. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776435 Title: Window maximizes on the wrong workspace To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/776435/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 755842] Re: Non-maximized windows which sit on the border of a workspace move when called
I think this bug causes a strange behaviour of the launcher too: - Do the steps to reproduce this bug (or work for some time with unity and mulitple programs ;-) ). - Go to a workspace (which seems to be) without any open program windows. -- The launcher hides for no noticeable reason. Consequences: You think its an inconsistent behaviour of autohiding in the launcher. -- annoying. Explanation: Due to the default 2x2 alignment of Workspaces in Unity, with this wrap around feature (I don't know the right name, but its the when window overlaps the right border of the most right workspace, it appears on the left thing) A window can move some pixels , from the left side coming, under the Launcher and it does autohide. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/755842 Title: Non-maximized windows which sit on the border of a workspace move when called To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/755842/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
