[Bug 91981] updates no longer automatic
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager On one user account, updates no longer report automatic. On the other user account on the same system there is no problem. I have set my software preferences to check for updates daily. Update-manager itself works normal, if I start update-manager manualy all proposed updates can be installed. I just mis by orange-white star in my taskbar. I believe this occurred after a certain update, but I have no idea wich one. My system is Dapper Drake ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- updates no longer automatic https://launchpad.net/bugs/91981 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 62722] Re: When surfing to a webpages - redirecting
I was testing my hibernation on the system, this must have been coincidentaly related to this error, since firefox now worked in all cases, via panel link and via command line I guess this report may be closed. ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Status: Needs Info => Rejected -- When surfing to a webpages - redirecting https://launchpad.net/bugs/62722 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 62722] When surfing to a webpages - redirecting
Public bug reported: When surfing to a certain webpage http://www.jolipa.be Firefox closes itself, even when multiple tabs are open. I tried surfing to the http://www.jolipa.be/index.html with the same results. I surfed to the same webpage with de Windows version of firefox (on XP) and it acted normal, showing me the index page, but I saw I was instantly redirected from index.html to index3.html. My guess is ubuntu firefox can't handle redirecting that good. When knowing the origin of the problem I surfed (with ubutu firefox) to index3.html, firefox did not close. Please try following the same link. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Changed in: hal (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: hal => firefox -- When surfing to a webpages - redirecting https://launchpad.net/bugs/62722 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 61706] Re: HAL error after return out of hibernation
I'm afraid to say, trouble is back and worse. I can only see this problem as the cause. -Since hibenation worked I continued using it, untill the last time, the error message returned. Since all progrmams worked I ignored it. I did a liitle work, even changing users showed no problems. But then I logged back into my own account, I by just pointing the mouse at the clock applet made it crash. While trying to send an error report X crashed, I tried to reboot, but mouting of hda1 with the root dir failed, fsck automatic failed. I ran fsck manualy with the option -v. All bad inodes fixed, the system runs normal again (even a bit faster as before). I'm never hibernating the system again ! -- HAL error after return out of hibernation https://launchpad.net/bugs/61706 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 61706] Re: HAL error after return out of hibernation
Following these guidelines pc return from sleep normaly: To suspend to disk, choose "Hibernate" from the GNOME logout menu. To suspend to RAM, edit /etc/default/acpi-support and uncomment the second line by deleting the # character, to read: ACPI_SLEEP=true Although I still get the brown stripes between login and splash screen, no nvidea graphics card. I though this fault was HAL related since at initialising desktop I got a Gnu/HAL related error message with a link, but since no program worked, I could not follow the link. Now error message is no longer displayed, all programs work. -- HAL error after return out of hibernation https://launchpad.net/bugs/61706 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
