The terminals are really slow. It's always like I am on a slow ssh connection for instance. I type a bunch of characters and nothing appears and then after a second or so all the characters appear. It happens on all terminals I have on my machine. gnome-terminal, konsole, xterm and getting a terminal by pressing CTRL+ALT+F1. It's not related to compiz I switched off compiz and tried again and the problem was still there. Also I tried creating a new user and it stayed the same.
