[Bug 994630] Re: applications print settings not working

2012-05-22 Thread tifff
Since upgrade to precise: Using e.g.
  lp -o PrintoutMode=High.Gray ...
from console when loptions shows Normal has no more effects. One has to use
Printer settings dialogs, aka reconfigure the printer.

[Bug 495458] Re: preview windows is displayed as garbish

2010-02-11 Thread tifff
Same problem (Preview window not usable/empty with Canoscan N670U). When
preview window option was turned of in previous session and is turned
on, problem shows up. One has to keep the option turned on and to
restart xsane to get a useable preview window, closing the bad preview
window and turning it on by selecting the show preview option does not
recover the window.

[Bug 454859] Re: Audacity crashes on Click Track plugin

2010-01-12 Thread tifff
As nobody seems to be affected: I'm adding my observation:

When creating clock track (Erzeugen - Click track) console shows:

ERROR: Could not find sinewave.raw in rawwaves. Something is wrong with the
installation or configuration.

; loading /usr/share/audacity/nyquist/init.lsp
SETDIR: No such file or directory
Set *default-sf-dir* to /home/horst/tmp in fileio.lsp
AutoNorm feature is on.
Default sound file is horst-temp.wav.
system.lsp : *RUNTIME-PATH* = /usr/share/audacity/nyquist/

Nyquist -- A Language for Sound Synthesis and Composition
Copyright (c) 1991,1992,1995,2007-2009 by Roger B. Dannenberg
Version 3.03

error: bad place form
1 0
1 1
1 92
1 80
1 #Sound: #b500cf60
1

and popup confirm dialog shows Nyquist error 10. That happens only on
first call after adaucity start, when repeating click track creation
that works normal (audacity never crashed).

Happens since I upgraded from jaunty to karmic on all my machines (Intel
Core 2 Quad, AMD Athlon 64).

[Bug 494068] Re: kde update manager crashes when using ok-button

2009-12-09 Thread tifff
Confirming that nasty bug. OK may hide the update manager while APPLY
may keep it visible, but exiting on OK is too hard.

[Bug 121082] Re: permission problems for sane devices

2009-12-08 Thread tifff
Thank's very much, I had the same problem and added
# CanoScan FS4000US Film Scanner
ATTRS{idVendor}==04a9, ATTRS{idProduct}==3042, ENV{libsane_matched}=yes

to /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libsane.rules, otherwise vuescan will not detect that
filmscanner (except when used as root). For sane it's useless as that scanner
is not supported by sane.
In my case (karmic) /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libsane.rules did not even exists,
therefore the only thing to do was to add that line and to reboot. No scanner
group was necessary but I'm member of plugdev.
