[Bug 1531342] [NEW] Clicking on "Mouse and Touchpad" in settings results in continuous loading/busy
Public bug reported: I have just reinstalled (fresh install) xubuntu 15.10. I didn't recall this bug in my previous install -- but this time whenever I click on the "mouse and touchpad" icon in the systems manager my mouse cursor turns into busy/working, but nothing ever opens (I let it run for > 15 minutes). I'm able to use the cursor outside the window and continue working in xubuntu - it's just the settings manager stays stuck until I close the system manager (natural close - not kill). I'm not familiar enough with what commands to use in the terminal to test if the actual mouse and/or touchpad manager works... so if you need more tests let me know. ** Affects: xubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 15.10 mouse touchpad ** Tags added: and mouse touchpad ** Tags removed: and touchpad ** Tags added: 15.10 touchpad -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531342 Title: Clicking on "Mouse and Touchpad" in settings results in continuous loading/busy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1531342/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 899878] Re: Software center have hardcoded colors and shows white font on white bg
Every once in a while I forget why I don't use Ubuntu Software Center... but then I start it and remember why... I can't read anything (white font on white background). This has been a weird situation because I run a lot of apps and NONE have this problem with the current theme that I use. I decided to look up the bug this time... and what a long history there is for this bug! I don't know how apps like this get included with a mainstream ubuntu. It appears that a couple months you were close to a fix, but then... the progress has seem to have stalled. It makes me think that USC really isn't supported. [Bug 431900] Re: Khelpcenter4 comes with outdated documentation
I have review the change log of kdebase-runtime and I went back as far as I could (Nov 2007) and found no changes. Personally I think the text outline format looks like it has come from the `90s. I never have used khelpcenter because I never have found it useful and even worse it seemed archaic. I would be surprised if even 5% of KDE users find this app of any use. I think that a totally revamped help center would be attractive to many. Re: [Bug 418825] Re: New great version 1.0 released
Thanks for your response... I've a better idea how the packaging process works now (especially since I did some research and discovered what a freeze is). Always something new to learn... :-) Jonathan Thomas wrote: Usually this package would be synced from Debian as soon as it was updated there. The only thing is that we are past both Debian import freeze (so these syncs have to be requested manually) and since a few days before 1.0 was released, Feature Freeze. This means that to get an exception for feature freeze, one must go through a bunch of red tape. If Debian's going to update to 1.0.1 in the next few days, it'll be worth it (for me) to wait a few days instead of going through all that twice. If you want to request a sync yourself, go right ahead. [Bug 418825] Re: New great version 1.0 released
Why isn't KMM2 ver 1.0 packaged already! I was trying to get some help with the app, and finally figured out that my current version from the Ubuntu repository was .9.2!! There have been a large number of improvements since then, no wonder I didn't know what the people at the forum were talking about, the features don't exist in .9.2!! This app needs an immediate update package. It's unfortunate that I have to enter private ppds for an update version of 1.0.0. BTW, it appears to be working perfectly. I've noticed this lack of updating app packages elsewhere (eg KPhotoAlbum is far behind), and I've had to also acquire privately compiled versions. Is there some problem with not being able to maintain the Ubuntu upgrade repository with current versions? -- New great version 1.0 released https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/418825 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This error message just started for me yesterday, and as far as I'm aware I only did two things: 1) I tried installing enlightenment -- but because it didn't work properly I completely uninstalled it using Synaptic Package Manager. 2) in the same session I changed the theme of Gnome After rebooting the computer I received this error, I have not yet tried the solutions posted above. [Bug 61381] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login
This is too weird! As per my prior message I followed up by adjusting: /etc/hosts and /etc/network/interfaces and removing ::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback -- actually I didn't adjust the later file since the lo loopback reference was already there. The result when I restarted the session was no different -- still the usual error(s). I then decided to change my theme back to the original Human. I restarted the session and since then there has been no problems (however something is wrong with my themes as the window cannot read all the existing themes and seems to stall...) Just out of interest I added the ::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback line again and GNOME still has no problems starting. -- gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login https://launchpad.net/bugs/61381 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
