Disabling auto-mute in alsamixer console tool makes sound problems
happening less frequently for me.
Try it out.

[Bug 960080] [NEW] can't click scroll overlay button on Dell Insipron 15R (intel graphics)

Public bug reported:

while opening nautilus or gnome terminal and try to scroll windows with 
clicking on scroll button. Button disapears before i can click on it. Attached 
video (ogv) shows issue. It seems that this bug is only regarding gtk3 
applications (old gtk2 work ok).
I still can scroll with mouse scroll.
System: Precise (12.04) daily build from 19.03.2012

For some reason i didn't have loopback interface defined in:
/etc/network/interfaces
So i've done:
sudo vim /etc/network/interfaces

and added:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

I think Ubuntu should have some self testing tool for basic settings. If
it is known that some apps do require loopback interface for working
(e.g. upstart) then there should be some automatic test tool checking
whether the interface exists !! Ther should be some general solution for
this kind. Maybe some kind of 'Unit test' tool
