[Bug 275865] Re: Nautilus RAW image thumbnails have wrong orientations.

2011-02-08 Thread tonnzor
I have the same issue on Ubuntu 10.10 - Maverick Meerkat.

That is surely a bug in gnome-raw-thumbnailer, not in Nautilus itself.

I want to confirm once more that RAW (at least in my use case) has
Orientation tag in its metadata (use exiv2 to check).

We need to contact developers of gnome-raw-thumbnailer at http://gnome-
raw-thumb.sourceforge.net/ so they respect orientation during thumbnail
generation. Actually I suppose they already use metadata for getting
embedded thumbnail from RAW.

[Bug 642792] Re: ALT+PrtSc not recognised: breaks built-in screenshot function

2011-01-10 Thread tonnzor
 I'd just change the keybindings

That would break well-known user experience. Users are used to press
PrintScreen/Alt+PrintScreen on all platforms (even Windows).

If there's a choice between breaking SysRq and Alt+PrintScreen - we should
consider breaking SysRq, because:
 * Making single window screenshots is much more demanded task that using SysRq
 * SysRq is used for debugging that itself is not ordinary use case comparing
to making screenshots
 * SysRq has no standard use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_request

Additionally, these direclty copy to clipboard shortcuts might be
useful

Yes, separate keybindings for direct copying to clipboard would be very
handy.

[Bug 695362] [NEW] Brightness keys not working

2010-12-29 Thread tonnzor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: devicekit

On my Sony VAIO VGN-FW11SR laptop backlight brightness keys are not
working.

When I was using Ubuntu 10.04 - it worked fine:
1) when I pressed Fn+F5 - notification appeared showing that brightness is
decreasing (and brightness actually decreased)
2) when I pressed Fn+F6 - notification appeared showing that brightness is
increasing (and brightness actually increased)

Notification was very similar to volume control notification (it works
fine though).

In Ubuntu 10.10 when I press Fn+F5/F6 - nothing happens. I may change
brightness using gnome applet or using power management app, but
pressing keys does nothing.

I have read a lot of solutions, but found nothing that may help me.

One of the popular answer has to add EnableBrightnessControl=1 into
xorg.conf, but I have no this file in Ubuntu 10.10

Please take a look at dmesg: [ 14.207750] sony-laptop: brightness
ignored, must be controlled by ACPI video driver

[Bug 671947] [NEW] CANNOT UNDO MESSAGE CHANGES

2010-11-06 Thread tonnzor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gwibber

That is VERY IMPORTANT issue. I face it every time I use gwibber and it
leads to dataloss every time!!!

Bug is that you cannot undo your changes in message field when you type
in the message!

Reproduce steps:
1) Open gwibber
2) Start typing new message
3) Accidentally select some text (let's say by touchpad)
4) Type one more letter
5) See that your text is erased
6) See that you CANNOT undo this stupid change (have stupid dataloss)

What I expected (as in ordinary programs):
1) By pressing Ctrl-Z inside the field I undo my previous change. By Ctrl-Y
or Ctrl-Shift-Z I redo my next change.
2) By pressing right mouse button on the field I see Undo and Redo items in
menu that have corresponding actions
3) In menu of program in Edit section I see Undo and Redo items in menu
that have corresponding actions

P.S. That's one of examples when developers use non-standard text field
that is missing KEY functionality. Please use standard text field + some
additional overlay for showing chars count.

Verrsions:
Ubuntu 10.10
gwibber 2.32.0.2-0ubuntu1

I have the same issue on fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.04. The fix
suggested in the initial message solved the issue.

[Bug 379065] [NEW] replace bluez-gnome with blueman

2009-05-21 Thread tonnzor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bluez-gnome

Bluez-gnome has not enough features so it should be replaced with
blueman package in default Ubuntu distribution.

Features is misses:
 - connect [bluetooth] mouse (device is connected, but not used as input device)
 - connect [bluetooth] headset
 - hints on buttons (never understood what means i and plug buttons)
 - show current status

At the same time blueman has all these features, acts in the same way
(gnome applet) and quite stable

My Ubuntu is 9.04, bluez-gnome 1.8-0ubuntu5 (ubuntu rep), blueman
1.10-1~ppa3j (ppa repository at
http://ppa.launchpad.net/blueman/ppa/ubuntu).

[Bug 76769] Re: network-manager-pptp does not notify network-manager of disconnects

This plugin must check connection status! I did it manually by checking
/dev/ppp0 device presence. Why it can't be done by plugin itself?

[Bug 236576] [NEW] Add feature reconnect on hangup

2008-06-01 Thread tonnzor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager-pptp

Each VPN connection should have an option to enable Reconnect.

What is reconnect - try to connect again if connection is lost.

It is a standard feature in Windows and it is very useful in case of
unstable connect (that is quite often).

It would be great if user can configure how many attempts should be done
to connect.

[Bug 107738] Re: network-manager-pptp isn't installed by default

2008-06-01 Thread tonnzor

Please, add this small but show-stopper package to ubuntu CD and DVD.
Maybe only 5% will use it, but it would solve a lot of problems for
them.

By the way, I think CD/DVD must contain support for all protocols used
by ISPs. I'm sure it would take less than a few megabytes.
