My ccsm mproblem is resolved - the error message complained about an unknown
symbol, I think the variable name was in the bug report - I think it was
CCEdgestToStringList or something similar.
When I removed all compiz related packages, removed all third party sources
from my repository list, and then reinstalled compiz and ccsm, everything
worked fine. So chalk it up to user error.

Error can be reproduced by running ccsm on my system or through Gnome UI via 
System > Preferences > Advanced Desktop Effects Settings

Sorry this is not a bug I had a lot of third party repositories included in my 
sources.
After doing a reinstall of compiz and compizconfig-settings-manager with 
limites sources all is well.

I'm getting this crash every time I run Advanced Desktop Effects Settings from 
the System > Preferences menu item.
