[Bug 1889486] [NEW] No autoloads for id-utils.el

2020-07-29 Thread Valery Ushakov
Public bug reported:

id-utils packages installs id-utils.el emacs file but doesn't install
autoloads for it in /etc/emacs/site-start.d

It need to provides something like:

# cat /etc/emacs/site-start.d/50id-utils.el
(autoload 'gid "id-utils" "run idutils' gid command" t)

It might additionally need to change the id-utils.el so that at the very
end it

(provide 'id-utils)

instead of

(provide 'idutils)

I'm not sure what's the deal is here with the id-utils vs idutils
renaming.

[Bug 1885527] Re: cloud-init regenerating ssh-keys

2020-07-02 Thread Valery Tschopp
We have no problem about cloud-init still being active on the machine
after the first boot init.

My issue is:

On first instance boot, the metadata service is successfully contacted,
and the initialisation succeed (host ssh key generated, hostname set,
...)

But on any reboot, if the metadata service is DOWN or not reachable for
any reason, then cloud-init regenerates the host ssh keys.

My understanding is that determining if it is a first boot, or not, is
only based on the cached instance-id, compared to the data received from
the metadata service. So if the metadata service is DOWN or not
reachable, cloud-init will always think it is a first boot, right?

Isn't it possible to make this test more robust?

[Bug 1885527] Re: cloud-init regenerating ssh-keys

2020-07-01 Thread Valery Tschopp
We have a similar issue:

1. At first boot cloud-init generated the host ssh keys
2. The metadata service crashed and went down :(
3. At reboot, cloud-init can NOT reach the metadata service and regenerates the
host ssh keys

Re: [Bug 1856908] Re: Sometimes my Lenovo v310 freezes completely while playing music

2020-02-09 Thread Valery Frolov
 not know, is it really dangerous or not. My notebook still works.

All tests were carried out during the all night with the sound through HDMI
and with VirtualBox running MS Windows as guest OS, which was doing
something all the time. Everything was the same way as before, when I had
problems.
Probably i'll stay on 5.5 kernel.

Thank you all for the help. See you when new bugs will appear.

[Bug 1856908] Re: Sometimes my Lenovo v310 freezes completely while playing music

2019-12-26 Thread Valery Frolov
as for now, i can say that the problem eventually happens when music plays
throu hdmi sound channel, i have use analog speaker for the long time and
everything was fine, as i can mention. but if i switch to hdmi, even i use the
very same software (virtual box, google chrome, audacious), my notebook dies in
an hour or two, and it became unavailiable completely locally and by means of
wired lan.
i would be glad to know about any progress on this topic

[Bug 1856908] Re: Sometimes my Lenovo v310 freezes completely while playing music

2019-12-19 Thread Valery Frolov
Unfortunately i can't do apport-collect
1. This is probably a bug also. apport-collect does not work if ~/.cache is a
symbolic link
2. even after a have moved ~/.cache phisically to my home directory, it does
not work:

$ apport-collect 1856908

Thank you, Daniel.
The situation is as music stops playing and screen freezes.
Next time i'll try to access notebook with ssh.

[Bug 1534215] [NEW] link-local IPv6 addresses are rejected

2016-01-14 Thread Valery Ushakov
Public bug reported:

getaddrinfo(3) refuses to resolve IPv6 addresses if hint flag
AI_ADDRCONFIG is specified and when there are no IPv6 addresses other
than link-local are configured. Unfortunately that happens even with
AI_NUMERICHOST. This makes it impossible to use nc6 with IPv6 loopback
or link-local addresses on such systems, e.g.

$ nc6 -n fe80::a00:27ff:fefd:3b2a%eth0 12345
nc6: forward host lookup failed for remote endpoint
fe80::a00:27ff:fefd:3b2a%eth0: Address family for hostname not supported

The code to resolve addresses in network.c does

#ifdef HAVE_GETADDRINFO_AI_ADDRCONFIG
hints.ai_flags |= AI_ADDRCONFIG;
#endif
if (ca_is_flag_set(attrs, CA_NUMERIC_MODE))
hints.ai_flags |= AI_NUMERICHOST;

this should be perhaps changed to the (untested):

if (ca_is_flag_set(attrs, CA_NUMERIC_MODE))
hints.ai_flags |= AI_NUMERICHOST;
#ifdef HAVE_GETADDRINFO_AI_ADDRCONFIG
else
hints.ai_flags |= AI_ADDRCONFIG;
#endif

so that AI_ADDRCONFIG is not specified when numeric host address is
used.

[Bug 133072] Re: tty console doen't show characters with accent

2015-11-01 Thread Valery Frolov
My 5 cents.
I guess the problem is in the console-setup package. i was digging in initramfs
scripts. hope this may help.
Changes below working well for me (15.10, i386).
Look at the "#check" marks for comments (excuse me for my badly broken English
;-):

[Bug 1401484] [NEW] Europe/Moscow timezone if out of date

2014-12-11 Thread Valery Ushakov
Public bug reported:

xul-ext-lightning 1:31.3.0+build1-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 still has old
timezone info for Europe/Moscow:

BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
TZID:Europe/Moscow
X-LIC-LOCATION:Europe/Moscow
BEGIN:STANDARD
TZOFFSETFROM:+0400
TZOFFSETTO:+0400
TZNAME:MSK
DTSTART:19700101T00
END:STANDARD
END:VTIMEZONE

Russia has changed its timezones recently, so Moscow now has 3 hours
delta, not 4.

This have been addressed in tzdata 2014f.

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2013-10-19 Thread Valery Kozlov
Having the same issue. I've upgraded from 13.04 where I had alt+shift toggling
between En and Ru and belarusian as system language. Current behavior is:
1. I can change layouts between En and Be via alt+shift without updating the
indicator (but i can see current layout on lock screen).
2. I can change layouts between En and Ru via ctrl+space, but hotkeys on
russian layout doesn't work.

Re: [Bug 892751] Re: error detection OCR

2011-11-22 Thread Valery Sevastianov
Thank you, Brian Murray.

Unfortunately, I speak in Russian, German, Polish. In English can only through
Google. I try to learn.
So forgive me if anything is unclear.

Can you recommend another program OCR? This is necessary to educate
students in college.

The program YAGF ended unexpectedly work. This is - a disaster in the
classroom of students.

With kind regards and best wishes
Dr. Valery Sevastianov

[Bug 726033] Re: does not display icons until hovered

2011-03-24 Thread Valery Kondakoff
Confirming this issue (unity 3.6.8): the application place is blank
until you scroll it or hover your mouse over the icons. This happens
only on places which have scroll control, so if place fits on the
screen there is no problem with displaying its content.

I posted the log file. What else do you need. It was long time ago. The
releases 10.04 and 10.10 had no such problems. So close the bug!
Thanks!

I've had this happening on several installs of hardy and fixed it by
enabling history stored in Firefox preferences. Once it's enabled, one
close-open cycle clears the issue.
