[Bug 1007273] Re: autofs does not start automatically after reboot

2012-10-10 Thread Vidya Alankar
I encountered exactly the same issue encountered by Kevin including the
contents of the log files, and worked around it the same way he did.
Thanks, Kevin!

In my case NIS servers are not local. Could that have caused ypbind to
get backgrounded?

Though that doesn't explain why it binds fine with network-manager out
of the picture.

[Bug 172419] Re: firefox freezes and turns gray

2008-08-10 Thread vidya
the same thing happens in firefox 3.0b5 on ubuntu 8.04.
Firefox freezes and so does thunderbird. I turned off a whole bunch of plugins
and the problem vanished.

I have flash plugin enabled and a vlc plugin enabled. And this is working fine.
I turned off
a) default plugin,
b) demo print plugin for unix/linux
c) divx web player
d) Helix dna player; realplayer G2
e) itunes application detector
f)quick time plugin
g) totem web browser plugin 2.22.1
h) windows media player plugin 10 (from totem 2.22.1)

I am not quite sure how I got that many plugins. Probably from a recent
installation of codecs for totem player.

But this was happening even before this codec download.
