Re: [Bug 751605] Re: Multi-monitor - Windows maximize on the wrong monitor

2012-11-13 Thread wacked_up
Here is a way to reproduce it 100% of the time.
1. Have the bigger monitor on the left, and have a window there that is
bigger in at least one dimension than the second monitor on the right.

2. Drag the window to the second monitor, and either first drop it there,
and then maximize it (by pushing the window border against the panel (a
correct maximize outline is shown), and let go, or by still dragging the
window push it against the panel (still showing the right maximize outline.

3. Release the mouse button.

The window should now be maximized on the smaller right monitor, but in
fact it maximized on the larger left monitor instead.

wrote:

OK, it took me a surprisingly long time to reproduce the problem but now I
can reproduce it in some unnatural cases:
   (a) The centre of the window is below the bottom of the bottom-most
monitor (or right of the right-most); or
   (b) The height of the window is greater than the height of the monitor
it's mostly on (and probably applies to width too).

I still cannot reproduce the bug in any natural case where (c) a
window smaller than the monitor it's on (and centred) fails to maximize
on that monitor. That's the main case reported at the top of the bug and
the main case that worries me. I can't reproduce it.

Can anyone reproduce (c) any more or is it just (a) and (b) that are a
 problem?

Re: [Bug 751605] Re: Multi-monitor - Windows maximize on the wrong monitor

2012-11-09 Thread wacked_up
This is still an issue with all windows that are too big. I don't
understand why this bug keeps being put back to triaged, instead of just
fixed. It's been there for at least a year now. That's too long for such an
obvious problem.

[Bug 966527] [NEW] Unity dash is too small to display the standard three rows of items, even though display is large enough.

2012-03-27 Thread wacked_up
Public bug reported:

The Unity dash got redesigned to have better fonts and appearance. It does look
way better, but because items got slightly bigger, it now always shows a
scrollbar on the right, which before it didn't need.
The screen is big enough to allow the Dash to be slightly bigger (higher
primarily) to not need the scrollbar. This greatly improves the overview of the
content and also feels more spacious.

[Bug 966547] [NEW] [Multi-Monitor] Dragging a window to a smaller screen and pushing it to the top so it maximizes causes it to maximize on the original screen instead.

2012-03-27 Thread wacked_up
Public bug reported:

When using two monitors (or more probably), if a window is on the
biggest screen of the two, and it is being dragged to the other screen
(which is smaller than the window in at least one dimension), then in
one move pushing it to the top to maximize it, causes it to maximize on
the bigger screen instead.

It should maximize on the smaller screen instead and probably even be
resized to fit in every dimension as well.

[Bug 641252] [NEW] Text in broadcast text field doesn't update or disappear automatically

2010-09-17 Thread wacked_up
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-me

With the updates of today the me-menu properly shows a label, indicating to
which services you have configured gwibber to transmit the message.
I would expect this message automatically disappears as I start typing in the
text field. However, this is not the case. Removing it by hand everytime is
cumbersome and unneccessary. It also breaks expectations one has of a label.

Furthermore, when one changes in gwibber to which service one posts with
the field, it does not automatically update the label in the me-menu.
Once you remove the labeltext, close the me-menu and open it again, the
label gets updated. This should happen automatically as the change is
made in gwibber (thus in effect, whenever one opens the me-menu).

I feel that, if these two issues are fixed, the me-menu would finally
start to be transparent and inherently useful as a result.

[Bug 199938] Re: Unlocking an administration tool gives an unexpected error

2008-03-09 Thread wacked_up
Addition: the error occurs after about 25 seconds. If this is a time-out
functionality, meant for added security, then the message given should
at least be more informative and better constructed, because you can't
close it right away. First you have to close the authentication window,
which is annoying.

If you cancel the authentication, you can actually try again without
having to close the whole tool first. If you press Authenticate however,
you will need to do that.

[Bug 199938] [NEW] Unlocking an administration tool gives an unexpected error

2008-03-08 Thread wacked_up
Public bug reported:

I'm running an up-to-date version of hardy (alpha 6) in vmware server.
When I open anything in the System Administration menu, press the unlock
button and wait a few seconds a popup is displayed, saying an unexpected error
occurred.
This error doesn't occur when I enter the password followed by enter right
away. After this problem occurs, trying to unlock again fails every time with
the same message.
In order for it to work again I have to reopen the tool.
