[Bug 1155568] Re: dual monitor support broken - regression vs 12.10

2013-03-15 Thread yemu
i had to downgrade to 12.10 but I observed problems also in clean install of
12.10. it worked before. after a few tries I was able to see both monitors and
it's ok, but I;m not sure if it will work with the next reboot.
attached is the output of xrandr --verbose.

[Bug 997581] Re: random system freezes lasting couple of seconds

2012-06-22 Thread yemu
after searching forums for the solution to my problem for the last couple of
days, I think I may have found what's causing freezes. I'm still testing it to
check for 100% if this is the case, but for now I believe that freezes are
caused by the driver using the NCQ to communicate with SSD (which is of course
pointless - SSD drives don't need to optimze the order of disk operationsm
apparently it causes some errors).

The point is that after disabling NCQ for the SSD the errors stoped occuring
(I've not encountered any for about 48h - earlier te freezes happened every
couple of hours or even more often).

To disable NCQ I added libata.force=5:noncq to default kernel options
in /etc/default/grub like this:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash libata.force=5:noncq

and updated grub.

I used 5: because errors i saw occured with ata5 info in dmesg - in
original report to this bug it was ata6, as you can see above, but it
changed to ata5, probably because I was switching ports on my
motherboard.

if anyone experience similar bug, please try this solution and report
here.

[Bug 94287] Re: OpenOffice icon issues

2007-04-13 Thread yemu
i don't know if it's related, but also ooo icons shown in gnome task
swither (when you press alt-tab) are blurry (and also these icons are
different than the ones shown in the taskbar (in taskbar oowriter icon
is a sheet of paper with a blue dot, and in task swither it is blurred
sheet of paper with a view of a sunset). unfortunately i'm not able to
do a screenshot of a task swither :-( but the icon on task swither is
the same as icon on matt screenshot (new document icon on the left just
under File)

[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings

sorry for the stupid question but, are you sure you are running the new version?
did you try to uninstall evince-0.6.1 first?

[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings

2007-01-05 Thread yemu
I almost compeletely agree this is not the solution, at least not right, but
thanks to this i can print on two pages and this feature is crucial for me -
without that i needed to boot into my old dapper installation :-(
wilk: the difference is that evince from ubuntube.org uses gtk print dialog.
i've just installed these debs on my wife's edgy machine and it works ok, did
you installed icon-naming-utils?

2007-01-03 Thread yemu
this it really the most annoying bug. i'm using edgy, what can i do to
use patched evince without the bug? printing 2 pages on one sheet is a
very important feature. please help

doesn't work!! i'm not able to pront two pages on one paper sheet.

[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings

2007-01-03 Thread yemu
i managed to get it to work. the main culprit here is a gtk print
dialog. after compiling with option to choose gnome print dialog i got
dialog i had in evince in dapper and it is working again! tommorow i'll
post debs of packages i created

2006-10-01 Thread yemu
same problem here, it happened after dist upgrade today. i think crash
doesn't happen for newly created desktop user, but it happens for
users with administrator rights. this is not 100% sure, have to
investigate it.
