[Bug 997581] Re: random system freezes lasting couple of seconds
after searching forums for the solution to my problem for the last couple of days, I think I may have found what's causing freezes. I'm still testing it to check for 100% if this is the case, but for now I believe that freezes are caused by the driver using the NCQ to communicate with SSD (which is of course pointless - SSD drives don't need to optimze the order of disk operationsm apparently it causes some errors). The point is that after disabling NCQ for the SSD the errors stoped occuring (I've not encountered any for about 48h - earlier te freezes happened every couple of hours or even more often). To disable NCQ I added libata.force=5:noncq to default kernel options in /etc/default/grub like this: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash libata.force=5:noncq and updated grub. I used 5: because errors i saw occured with ata5 info in dmesg - in original report to this bug it was ata6, as you can see above, but it changed to ata5, probably because I was switching ports on my motherboard. if anyone experience similar bug, please try this solution and report here. credits for the solution go to: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10480137postcount=8 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/997581 Title: random system freezes lasting couple of seconds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/997581/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings
sorry for the stupid question but, are you sure you are running the new version? did you try to uninstall evince-0.6.1 first? -- Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings https://launchpad.net/bugs/67164 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings
I almost compeletely agree this is not the solution, at least not right, but thanks to this i can print on two pages and this feature is crucial for me - without that i needed to boot into my old dapper installation :-( wilk: the difference is that evince from ubuntube.org uses gtk print dialog. i've just installed these debs on my wife's edgy machine and it works ok, did you installed icon-naming-utils? -- Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings https://launchpad.net/bugs/67164 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings

[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings
this it really the most annoying bug. i'm using edgy, what can i do to use patched evince without the bug? printing 2 pages on one sheet is a very important feature. please help -- Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings https://launchpad.net/bugs/67164 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings
i've compiled and installed evince 0.7 from sources, but it still doesn't work!! i'm not able to pront two pages on one paper sheet. -- Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings https://launchpad.net/bugs/67164 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67164] Re: Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings
i managed to get it to work. the main culprit here is a gtk print dialog. after compiling with option to choose gnome print dialog i got dialog i had in evince in dapper and it is working again! tommorow i'll post debs of packages i created -- Evince print dialog doesn't respect page setup settings https://launchpad.net/bugs/67164 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 62739] Re: nautilus crashed when i logon gnome in edgy
i confirm, deleting libnautilus-gst-shares.so helps. thanks Joel, you saved my day :-) -- nautilus crashed when i logon gnome in edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/62739 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 62739] Re: nautilus crashed when i logon gnome in edgy
same problem here, it happened after dist upgrade today. i think crash doesn't happen for newly created desktop user, but it happens for users with administrator rights. this is not 100% sure, have to investigate it. -- nautilus crashed when i logon gnome in edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/62739 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
