[Bug 886779] Re: Leveno X121e swap FN-Ctrl option is forgotten after resume

2012-11-10 Thread yens
Updating BIOS to 1.16 did not help in my case. Update does not resolve
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/880579 either.

[Bug 880579] Re: fn keys reversed and touchpad not working on thinkpad x121e after awaking from sleep

2012-11-10 Thread yens
fn keys reversed and touchpad not working on thinkpad x121e does not
only show up after suspend but also from time to time after normal boot
(Xubuntu 12.04, 64bit). Only workaround I know so far: reboot 1 or 2
times. Biosupdate to 1.16 does not help.

[Bug 886779] Re: Leveno X121e swap FN-Ctrl option is forgotten after resume

2012-09-22 Thread yens
Attached you will find an extrait of dsmeg. Unfortunately the extra
keys were detected correctly this time. It usually happens when I am in
hurry ;)

This a blocker for any production use of this otherwise perfectly
working notebook under Xubuntu 12.04!

It also seems to be a regression because I did not observe this bug in
Xunbuntu 11.10.

[Bug 831768] Re: aptitude cannot handle conflicts with multiarch enabled

2012-09-22 Thread yens
 As 0.6.8.1 version of aptitude fixed that bug I merged it into version
for quantal. Please check package from
http://tygrysek.juszkiewicz.com.pl/~hrw/ubuntu/

Is a backport for precise available? Is anyone working on this?

[Bug 1008038] Re: Leveno X121e Touchpad keys not working

2012-08-08 Thread yens
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected precise staging

** Description changed:

  Sometimes the touchpad buttons are dead when I boot up. It doesn't
  happen everytime but I realize this at once because when I want to log
  in I cannot choose my account (I have deactivated tapclicking -- I'll
  never get used to that), as pressing the buttons above the touchpad does
  not do anything. The only thing that's working then is clicking by
  pressing the whole touchpad. The trackpoint is dead in this case, too. A
  restart always remedies the issue and this as I said doesn't happen at
  every boot and the buttons don't drop their function during a session
  once they are active. Maybe the driver doesn't load correctly?

Unfortunately reboot doesn't help coercively. Sometimes takes serveral

[Bug 1008038] [NEW] Leveno X121e Touchpad keys not working

2012-06-03 Thread yens
Public bug reported:

Sometimes the touchpad buttons are dead when I boot up. It doesn't
happen everytime but I realize this at once because when I want to log
in I cannot choose my account (I have deactivated tapclicking -- I'll
never get used to that), as pressing the buttons above the touchpad does
not do anything. The only thing that's working then is clicking by
pressing the whole touchpad. The trackpoint is dead in this case, too. A
restart always remedies the issue and this as I said doesn't happen at
every boot and the buttons don't drop their function during a session
once they are active. Maybe the driver doesn't load correctly?

cat /proc/version_signature  version.log
Ubuntu 3.2.0-25.40-generic 3.2.18

Re: [Bug 886779] Re: Leveno X121e swap FN-Ctrl option is forgotten after resume

 yens, are you boting in EFI-mode or in BIOS-mode?

I can not really tell. I bought the notebook without OS and
installed directly Xubuntu without any changes in the
BIOS parameters. These should still be in their initial state.

If necessary tell me where to look.

Btw: Suspend to disk doesn't work either

 I have read reports the bug occurs only in EFI-mode, and it appears when
 using Windows as well (I can confirm that)

 I believe this is a bug in the computer's UEFI-BIOS, but of course I am
 not sure... The BIOS has a few other bugs in UEFI mode as well I think.

I saw it's already solved to me. Thanks to everyone for the efforts.
Anyway there is a slight difference like 362.4 on the server and 362.6
locally but I think this is really minor issue now.

[Bug 642813] Re: locale is set correctly but most app not change language

2010-09-23 Thread yens
I noticed the following :

At login : the language change has no effect.

Very bad workaround:
1. In language selector push the desired language on first place.
2. apply to the whole system
3. Reboot.

Still : behaviour only observed on the upgraded system.
The from scratch installed system has no problems.

In the changes tab under Description of update (c.f. screenshot) you
see the change-log of this update. Then you can decide if you want to

[Bug 626271] [NEW] java2html does not support ISO8859-x

2010-08-29 Thread yens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: java2html

Java2html escapes after every non ASCII in identifiers.

For unicode this programm is to old, but support for
European 8-bit character sets was easy to
implement.

[Bug 559496] Re: [ubuntu lucid] evolution not adapted to netbook screens

2010-05-30 Thread yens
This bug appears in several places :

1) the general tab in the preferences dialog is to long for standard netbook
screens with 1024*600 pixels.
2) The minimum window size of the email and agenda view is some pixels too
large.
The result is that the window manager tries to adapt the window position
every click and
the window starts jumping left and right.

The latter bug is _very_ annoying and very easy to fix!

So I rolled back to the original mountall.conf, but the situation is as bad as
it was before :

What is wrong?

[Bug 484142] Re: Ubuntu one used space differs on local machine and on the server

2009-11-18 Thread yens
Hi Joshua,
Thank you for your efforts spent on my bug report.
I've started using u1 for less than 2 months. It was just before the launch of
9.10 Karmic release.
Actually I registered for u1, when I was under 9.04, in case this matters
anyhow.
Regards,
Yens

[Bug 484142] [NEW] Ubuntu one used space differs on local machine and on the server

2009-11-17 Thread yens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Hello,
I've noticed that the size of the local ubuntu one folder and the space used on
the server differs, i.e. 267.4 MB locally and 494.6 MB on the server. Beside
the files on the server I have only one note and few contacts, which couldn't
make such big difference.
I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 on 32 bit machine. At the beginning I had
some sync and other problems but everything was solved by doing couple of times
complete uninstall / install as per
https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/778
Now everything is synchronized, I checked all the files manually and the only
one issue is the used space - locally and on the server.
I suppose that this should be a bug issue.

[Bug 426084] [NEW] crashes when changing directory name while thumbnails are being generated

2009-09-07 Thread yens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I have a directory with 500 jpg pictures and 50 subdirectories.
When I open this directory with nautilus it takes about a minute to have all
thumbnails generated. Usually I do not wait until this is finished.
Nautilus crashes when I change the name of one of those directories during
creation time of thumbnails.
It also crashes when I create a new directory. I suppose it is the same
problem, since directories are first created as new folder and then renamed.
The bug can be reproduced.

[Bug 156581] Re: usbnet: Zaurus C860 doesn't connect any more

2007-12-01 Thread yens
Steven,

thanks a lot, it worked for me.

Here a more detailed version of your solution, it may help somebody:

// you need to be root (at some point)

sudo bash -l

// get libcurses need for make menuconfig

#apt-get install libncurses5-dev

// get the kernel sources

#cd /usr/src/

#apt-get source linux-image-2.6.22-14-generic

// make some changes

#cd linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22

// my kernelversion is 2.6.22-14, but
// the downloaded patchfile has a wrong subversion
// number, so correct this:
#vi Makefile

   replace
  EXTRAVERSION = .9
   with
  EXTRAVERSION = .14

#vi /usr/src/linux-
source-2.6.22-2.6.22/debian/config/i386/config.generic

   replace
  CONFIG_USB_NET_ZAURUS is not set
   with
  CONFIG_USB_NET_ZAURUS=m

//get original configuration
#cp/boot/config-2.6.22-14-generic /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/

#mv /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/config-2.6.22-14-generic
/usr/src/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/.config

//change in .config
CONFIG_USB_NET_ZAURUS is not set
 to
CONFIG_USB_NET_ZAURUS=m

//compile the module

#mkdir /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/.tmp_versions

#cd /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/

# make drivers/net/usb/zaurus.ko

//install it

# cp /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/drivers/net/usb/zaurus.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/kernel/drivers/net/usb

# depmod -a
