I didn't understand. Is there no package python2.5 in lucid? So, mostly Lucid will not compatible for servers and programmers for python environment. The situation was found like that - I should install virtual-env for projects in python2.5 version and couldn't compile python-imaging for it. As python2.5 exist in lucid, there should be and development files for purpose to make possibility to make not existed modules by developer himself. the same is for MySQLdb (mysql-python) module. There are many modules that you have to compile. So, python headers are _VERY_ needed.
