[Bug 1001166] Re: Remove the -dbg packages
What was the sense of resolving this as opinion without even commenting on it or discussing this? I'm speaking as part of the team, that maintains gelemental for Debian. The debugging symbols have been added although we refused to do this and they have never been used -neither in Debian nor in Ubuntu. We can easily recompile this small package and disable stripping to get a backtrace if there will ever be a crash. ** Changed in: gelemental (Ubuntu) Status: Opinion = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001166 Title: Remove the -dbg packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gelemental/+bug/1001166/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1001166] Re: Remove the -dbg packages
This package hasn't seen any crashes. So it is not of the upmost importance, So IMO there is really no need to diverge from Debian here. IMO is In My Opinion so Opinion is correct. You may modify it in favour of an opinion, but there is not really and need to do either. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001166 Title: Remove the -dbg packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gelemental/+bug/1001166/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1001166] Re: Remove the -dbg packages
The meaning of opinion in launchpad is a bit different to this. It means: the package maintainers consider the issue as closed, but users are free to continue the discussion. It stands for a different opinion between the reporter and the package maintaiuner. Again: I'm speaking as part of the debichem team and I havn't seen at least a comment on my request.
