[Bug 1005531] Re: Editing irc port is hard
Workaround for this bug: Click on the port text-box. From now on you don't see what you are doing any more since the + and - buttons are consuming all space. But the text-box is still there, you just can't see it. So you blindly do: * press Control-A to select all text in the box * backspace to delete everything * type the new number * hit enter * verify the number -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005531 Title: Editing irc port is hard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/1005531/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1005531] Re: Editing irc port is hard
Thanks for your bug report and helping to makle Ubuntu better. You have the option in empathy to edit which port is used first. In the account wizard, click the IRC connection you want to change Click to Edit Connection Parameters Click Freenode (Thats the Ubuntu server) Click edit when freenode is selected in the server list Expand the window down, and select the freenode listing with 8001 as the port, then using the up arrow click it until it does grey and you've made 8001 the default server port that empathy will use. Although, That's too many steps and quite confusing for the average user. Marking this as a wishlist bug and hopefully the upstream devs will follow quit (if you can't). ** Changed in: empathy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist ** Changed in: empathy (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005531 Title: Editing irc port is hard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/1005531/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
