[Bug 103176] Re: [feisty] Boot time slow, hangs on configuring network interfaces
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 102675 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102675 For me this is a bug of most importance. None previous versions took so long to boot with wifi enabled. My Feisty could take something like 20s but takes almost 1min (something like 40s or more). So it hangs something like 20s just in configuring network interfaces. The roaming thing is a great idea, network manager is also really good, but this boot time really annoys anyone. Thanks in advance. See above. Roaming is enabled for me for all my network devices and my /etc/network/interfaces is big too, include all the space above the command (five line breaks in the end): $ cat /etc/network/interfaces auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth1 iface eth1 inet dhcp auto eth2 iface eth2 inet dhcp auto ath0 iface ath0 inet dhcp auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp -- [feisty] Boot time slow, hangs on configuring network interfaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103176 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm this bug--I see it too as of 4/4/07. I'm also using Feisty with the latest updates. ** Changed in: module-init-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed -- [feisty] Boot time slow, hangs on configuring network interfaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103176 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 103176] Re: [feisty] Boot time slow, hangs on configuring network interfaces
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 102675 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102675 Okay, it's not a specific package, it's just the fact that updates should not add a whole bunch of crap to /etc/network/interfaces. 5 extra things were added to mine and it took forever to timeout trying to load them. Can future updates *please* not mess with that? ** Changed in: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: module-init-tools = ubuntu-meta -- [feisty] Boot time slow, hangs on configuring network interfaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103176 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
