Neil: Is it possible to either test with vesa or with a Gutsy liveCD from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/gutsy/tribe-5/ ? -- System fails to resume from suspend to ram in Edgy (GeForce 7800 GT) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 104596] Re: System fails to resume from suspend to ram in Edgy (GeForce 7800 GT)
Uname -a returns : Linux cascade 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Thu Jun 7 20:19:32 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux I cannot try the nv drivers, as they cause this card to hang with corruption on boot - again a common/known issue. On install, I have to go to CLI, swap to vesa in xorg.conf, install the nvidia-binaries, then reconfigure xorg.conf to use them. [Bug 104596] Re: System fails to resume from suspend to ram in Edgy.
Neil: Sounds like a problem with the NVIDIA binary drivers. Were you able to suspend (and resume) with the open source nv driver? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/122348 See my report here. The new nvidia drivers fix this bug, but must currently be installed manually from the nvidia.com .run file. -- System fails to resume from suspend to ram in Edgy. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 104596] Re: System fails to resume from suspend to ram in Edgy.
Scratch the above, it is due to a bug with beryl and I can swap terminals just fine using metacity only. However, Beryl or not, I'm still unable to resume from suspend to ram :) -- System fails to resume from suspend to ram in Edgy. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 104596] Re: System fails to resume from suspend to ram in Edgy.
Related problem: During normal usage, if I swap into a virtual terminal (ctrl alt F1) and back to x again a few times, eventually x hangs with a black screen and just a mouse cursor - Identical to the above if I try switching in/out of virtual terminals after the system has hung.
