I would agree, this seems appropriate. However, the rule should be:
^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ NetworkManager: information\^IDHCP
daemon state is now 3 \(renew\) for interface eth[0-9]$
The parent poster's rule wouldn't work.
