@Joseph Salisbury Thanks for the clarification. I was only going by the information in the package as of earlier. I will wait and test the whole supported lts-quantal stack. One option might be for you to use the linux-generic-lts-quantal backport kernel. Would it be possible for you to test that kernel? While the lts-quantal kernel works, it is not ideal. This kernel only has support until 2013. The commit in comment #2 suggests that fix should be in v3.4-rc1 and newer kernels: git describe --contains 8dfec6140fc617b932cf9a09ba46d0ee3f3a7d87 v3.4-rc1~184^2~21^2~4 Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.7 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. This bug is very annoying, breaks productivity and makes 12.04 hard to use day to day effectively.
