[Bug 108936] Re: random resets during install
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test: 1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux- image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and test. --or-- 2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4. Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced. You should then be able to test via a LiveCD. Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the 2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26 kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback. ** Tags added: cft-2.6.27 -- random resets during install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108936 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 108936] Re: random resets during install
I've attached a txt file with the output of "sudo lspci -vvn". Hope it helps someone there. When the crash happens, it's just as if I hit the reset button on the case. No error message or frozen screen. The screen instantly goes black, then starts over at the bios post. I should mention that I'm running Windows XP on this machine without any similar problems... but then again, Microsoft has got every major HW manufacturer in the world working overtime to make sure everything works with their software ;) Good luck, and can't wait to jump on the Feisty bandwagon! -Daniel On 4/23/07, Brian Murray <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu > better. [Bug 108936] Re: random resets during install
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add the full output of 'sudo lspci -vvn' from the Live CD to help us better troubleshoot this issue. What do you mean by "reset"? Does the system reboot or does something else happen? Thanks in advance. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Assignee: (unassigned) => Brian Murray Status: Unconfirmed => Needs Info -- random resets during install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108936 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
