[Bug 111618] Re: torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu
Well, I don't want to install and configure any database, so I decided to uninstall TorrentFlux but it is impossible because of the problem with the database. Can anyone help how to get rid of TorrentFlux easily? -- torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111618 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 111618] Re: torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu
I'm sorry, the problem is fixed. Ubuntu asked to update the database and then it was possible to completely remove TorrentFlux and dbconfig- common. ** Changed in: torrentflux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111618 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 111618] Re: torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu
The issue's been around for awhile. I'm not sure why it hasn't been addressed though once you've installed it I suppose it's no longer a problem. Torrentflux expects a database called torrentflux to already be there. Which of course, when you initially install it's not. To fix it, you can log into mysql and create a table called torrentflux. I can't remember the exact steps. -- torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111618 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 111618] Re: torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu
thanks! already fixed the problem though... I made sure that MySQL, etc, were installed and set up BEFORE I went to install TorrentFlux... (currently running Ubuntu 7.10 installed from netboot CD 9.1 MB including LAMP server on install) if you need the link, let me know, and I will find it again... install and setup from this allows much greater flexibility... I set up LAMP, Gnome (Ubuntu) KDE (Kubuntu) all on install... Seannon On 11/14/07, Nevyn [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: The issue's been around for awhile. Re: [Bug 111618] Re: torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu
I think that the problem i had on this was actually that I did not have MySQL installed and set up PRIOR to torrentflux installation... On install Torrentflux will create the database and all needed tables for you, if you let it by selecting the yes I want to allow dbconfig-common to setup the database option. However, using this option does require that you also install the mysql-client package (which is in the Recommends). Of course you also need to have access to a mysql-server package somewhere (or install it on the same machine, it was in the Suggests, now it's in the Recommends). Any problems on install are usually related to not installing the recommended packages (or are bugs in dbconfig-common, not torrentflux). torrentflux is the affected package, not Ubuntu. ** Changed in: torrentflux (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None = torrentflux -- torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111618 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 111618] Re: torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu
To address the problems installing, you should look at the recommended and suggested packages of torrentflux. You'll definitely need the recommended mysql-client if you are using the automatic database configuration. Also, if you don't have access to a remote database, you'll need the suggested mysql-server. Make sure you've satisfied those recommendations/suggestions and then reinstall torrentflux. Leaving the package in a partially installed state is probably what caused problems with your upgrade (though I'm not sure). To address the uninstall problem, I think the password it is asking you for is the admin password for the database server, not the password for the torrentflux database. If you have not changed it, then the default admin password for mysql server is blank. -- torrent flux database config crashed when upgrading to 7.04 ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111618 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
