I sent a mail to Pulseaudio mailing list, and a developer / co-maintainer is able to reproduce this bug :). Fortunately, I now tried this myself, and I'm able to reproduce the bug. I wonder why this bug hasn't been noticed earlier, since this is a really basic thing... I'll debug this on my own machine. I sent a email to alsa-devel, but i wish to say that the volume reset bug seems to be a problem across many soundcards NOT only Realtek. Tried Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10, 13.04 alpha live cds on my and dad's computer. With alsa-hda-dkms 0.201303071550~quantal1 installed, all output devices still gone after restart. Okay, i put 0x11 and 0x1e to spdif out, no difference. I got pulseaudio verbose log, but pulseaudio crashed many times and i have no audio devices anymore.
