HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP! This is a confirmed bug - it happens with the latest Raring, straight from the USB drive. You can boot the system, send it to suspend and the processor gets BURNING hot! It sucks the battery empty, the fans don't work but the i7 CPU heats and heats and heats! How on earth can this bug not get HIGHEST possible attention?? I tried Kernel 3.9 - the bug is STILL in there, too! Sorry, I did not know I had to set this to confirmed!! What can we do about this? This limits the usefulness of Ubuntu A LOT! linux-image-3.5.0-27 still has the same problem. Could this be fixed please? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.9 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
