Sorry to mention that it still crashes most of the time, although it is now a panel applet. Next time I see it crash, I'll take note of the crash report. Unfortunately, there are a number of crashers in the new upstream code. For instance Bug #181435 and Bug #213494. I have the same problem but Glipper doesn't crash.
