This bug report needs a new title but I'm unsure what to call it :^( The only thing I can think of is, "network-manager is a mess", but I realize that's inappropriate. Please also see bug #1159239. Additional testing shows that this occurs with both the 20130322 and 20130323 Lubuntu i386 images and also the Ubuntu 20130324 i386 image. Additionally with Lubuntu images I get 3 to 4 minutes of pop-up messages saying "Connected", then "Disconnected" repetitively. With the Lubuntu images this happens both in the live session and post-install.
