Public bug reported: Unity just shows blank black screen with mouse, this is why I'm currently on LXDE. The screen is divided on about 1/3 horizontally, as shown in the picture. At that point of the screen, the right edge ends and the next pixel is the left edge. To move the mouse from right to left, I have to go out to the right of the physical screen and the mouse will pop back in from the left. Same thing with lightdm. The proprietary driver is causing much trouble too, but different nature. IMPORTANT: Out of the box, everything works perfectly with free driver. When installing the updates, troubles start.
