Hi These are the steps... 1) I take a terminal 2) execute the commad sudo shutdown -r now 3) It when to black screen. and these are the logs printed The system is going down for reboot now ! acpid: exiting speech dispatcher disabled; edit /etc/default/speech-dispatcher 4) It is hanging there. nothing is printed after that. So.. I press the power button, system when for shutdown, then again switch it on by pressing the power button. If it is hanging during system shutdown, then it is not an issue with the Xserver as it has already exited by that point. Can you describe the freeze in more detail? Hi My Laptop hangs when i do reboot, But there is no problem when i shut it down and start it again using power button.
