The font loading problem is unrelated (probably some legacy font package
is needed). The bug (this one and the related bug #1184085 seems to be
fixed in Trusty Thar 14.04 (I tested with a live USB image), but the are
still present in 13.10.

I can reproduce the error with the carport-1 file from the xfig-site.
I am getting the following error:

File carport-1.fig:
Can't find -*-times-medium-r-normal--13 -*-*-*-*-*-ISO8859-*, using 6x13

xfig works ok in another machine with ATI card, using radeon open source
driver. So it's probably a bug in the intel driver. In my ATI machine
(Dell optiplex 755) the two problems (crash when drawing dashed circles,
and errors in filling areas) do NOT occur. So xfig it's ok.

Marking this bug as a duplicate now.

2013-05-25 Thread Romano Giannetti
Yes. it's the same. I am trying to collect an error report against Xorg ---
it's clearly a bug on the server side. Although I do not know if it's the same
bug.
I tried to reproduce it into an Xnest server, but it crashes the main server
too...

In 2010 there was this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfig/+bug/1177535
so, probably it is a regression.

Romano, could you try to draw a circle with dash line? In my case Xserver
instantly crashes (and is
restarted by display manager). So, just to know if we have similar bugs. Thank
you.
