[Bug 118505] Re: System hangs when using Merlin XU870 UMTS card (airprime driver)
The bug went away with a newer kernel in gutsy. Follwing the bug in the Kernel Bug Tracker it was fixed in 2.6.20-16 (http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7858). i have the same problem on Thinkpad T60. Simply doing cat /dev/ttyUSB0 on two terminals hangs system.
