Jérôme, thank you for your e-mail! I used desktop effects the first time, and not the second time. Mind you now I have the effects off, and everything is OK. Thank you for your bug report. Are you using desktop effects ? Only menus are missing or the whole panel (the two bars on the top and at the bottom ) ? Instead of rebooting try the following : press ALT + F2 and type gnome- panel then hit enter.
