Public bug reported: I tried adding my printer (MX700) to my mother's newly installed 13.04 machine and it didn't work. The system printer application failed to locate the printer on the network. I manually added the printer uri and the system would communicate with the printer, but printing would fail before ever starting...with some odd backend communications error in the cups-error log.
I then went and installed the older version built for raring out of my ppa (robbiew/cups-bjnp) and the system discovered the network printer just fine and printed. I had to return the laptop to my mother, but my Saucy installed system has the same old cups-bjnp package which works...I can probably recreate and attach logs, but only willing to do it if someone wants to actively debug this. Otherwise, I'll just stay on my ppa build. ** Affects: cups-bjnp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: cups-bjnp (Ubuntu Raring) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Also affects: cups-bjnp (Ubuntu Raring) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: cups-bjnp (Ubuntu Raring) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: cups-bjnp (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1193094 Title: cups-backend-bjnp not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-bjnp/+bug/1193094/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
