There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. If the suggestion in comment #3 didn't work then according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#Hardware_Malfunctions, this bug should have been reported against the kernel. If you are still seeing an issue in a currently supported release, please reassign the report against "linux" and then upload the updated logs by running only once: apport-collect 1193776. the status of the report can then be changed back to "New". Sorry. I tried marking the package as ubuntu. It wouldnt accept. Dont know why. Even tried marking as not knowing which package it affects.
