Sylvain Pineau, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please specify the full computer model (ex. HP Envy dv6-7200 Notebook PC)? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Tags added: needs-upstream-testing regression-potential ** Tags added: needs-computer-model -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197525 Title: GPU hang after running gpu_test (designed to lockup the GPU) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1197525/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1197525] Re: GPU hang after running gpu_test (designed to lockup the GPU)
This bug was also reproduced on 3.5.0-34.55~precise1, so it's not a regression. It's not 100% reproducible unfortunately. What would be needed to help solving this bug? Again it's probably another duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/946899 ** Tags removed: package-from-proposed ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed ** Description changed: + [Update] It's not a regression and does not seem to be a kernel bug. + [Update] also affects a Dell Latitude E6220 system with the same -proposed kernel, sounds like a regression. When running the Certification SRU tests (Checkbox gpu_test script) for the -proposed 3.5.0-36.57~precise1 on a HP ENVY Pavilion dv6 with an 'Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller', after the script is finished running the message: GPU hung Detected appears. [Bug 1197525] Re: GPU hang after running gpu_test (designed to lockup the GPU)
the -36 kernel doesn't touch drm/i915 at all, and this is a sandybridge system which doesn't use i915_hsw (which did get updates) so it's something else than the kernel if it's reproducible -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197525 Title: GPU hang after running gpu_test (designed to lockup the GPU) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1197525/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
