In 15.04 I've observed that Super+Space actually works when Space is pressed very rapidly after Super. I now have the machines running 13.10 with LXDE as a desktop environment. I don't have org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys switch-input-source set. One of them doesn't have this bug present and two other have. Another workaround: Simply change it to CTRL+Space. Even the Shfit+Super+Space shortcut doesn't work for me. Also, I wasn't able to change the shortcut to the previous default, Alt + Capslock. There's a patch applied which disables the input trigger from working under Unity because IBus' shortcut conflicts with g-s-d's media-keys if the accels match.
