Public bug reported: This happens frequently, after I unplug my monitor from my laptop. I killed compiz and tried unity --replace. But it doesn't fix the problem, compiz still takes between 30% and 40% of cpu, constantly. If I reboot the system, the problem disappears... until next time :)
