[Bug 1215590] Re: BIOS update 219 (from 215) for Asus UX31A led to battery % error

2013-10-05 Thread Christopher Barton
This bug appears to have been resolved for me at least with kernel
v3.8.0-31.

Battery is now showing 100% when fully charged.

Kind regards and thanks

Christopher

I am confirming this issue on Asus ux32vd with Ubuntu 13.04.
This happens from time to time (race condition?).

2013-08-22 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Does this issue go away if you boot into a previous kernel? If not,
this is probably a BIOS bug, which would need to be addressed by the
hardware manufacturer.

[Bug 1215590] Re: BIOS update 219 (from 215) for Asus UX31A led to battery % error

2013-08-22 Thread Christopher Barton
Sigh ... it seems that the issue remains even when booting up using the
previous kernel version.

Problem is that if I approach Asus about this, then they will simply
reply with sorry, we don't support linux, ...Asus recommends Windows
8. :-( Like hell I'll use Windows 8!

I updated the BIOS in an effort to resolve a different bug but then
landed with this problem.

So what to do now? Is there really nothing you can do on this matter?
