I've tried to install the latest v3.11 kernel, but the problem is the same. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1221876 Title: 1814:5390 [Asus X55A] Driver rt2800pci doesn't work, WiFi logout and login continuously To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1221876/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

adri76, as per http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/X55A/#support an update is available for your BIOS (417). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Thank you for your understanding. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1221876 Title: 1814:5390 [Asus X55A] Driver rt2800pci doesn't work, WiFi logout and login continuously To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1221876/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1221876] Re: 1814:5390 [Asus X55A] Driver rt2800pci doesn't work, WiFi logout and login continuously
The same problem occurs for me with the latest v.3.11-07 kernel. Signal strength is very low and with some encodings (WPA2?) does not work at all (connection dropped after some seconds). I have spent days trying to fix this bug without luck. Proprietary drivers for rt3290 from Realtek do not compile in the 3.11 kernel and caused kernel panic frequently in 3.9, why I upgraded to saucy. I see no other solution than to change computers or replace the wifi card, for now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1221876 Title: 1814:5390 [Asus X55A] Driver rt2800pci doesn't work, WiFi logout and login continuously To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1221876/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
