2 issues here: 1) content-hub using upstart-app-launch to invoke gallery. once version of upstart-app-launch in trunk lands this will prevent a second instance of gallery from being launched which is currently occuring. No fix necessary here. 2) if gallery is already running and is invoked in picker mode, it needs to save it's current view and return to it once picker mode/content transfer is complete or terminated. Currently the gallery exits after picking mode completes and it shouldn't.
