[Bug 1237416] Re: thg crashed with SIGSEGV in QMetaObject::methodOffset()

2013-10-15 Thread Alexander Behringer
Since the rebuild of qscintilla2 fixed the problem (for me as well) and
because the bug was not located within tortoisehg, I change the status
for tortoisehg to invalid and thus close the bug.

** Changed in: tortoisehg (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed = Invalid

I doubt it is anything to do with amd64 because it segfaults on 32bit as
well.

Oh wunder, wunder!

Fixed by an update/dist-upgrade just now, which pulled down:

libqscintilla2-9 libqscintilla2-l10n python-qscintilla2

Thank you, Ubuntu developers!

Any valuable info on this bug? It's two weeks until Saucy launch..
Should we add some qt4 compatibility package, or recompile thg, or thg needs to
be modified, or..?

[Bug 1237416] Re: thg crashed with SIGSEGV in QMetaObject::methodOffset()

2013-10-11 Thread Kostya Vasilyev
A possible packaging issue (or two) on an amd64 system.

1 - Per the suggestion in the Bitbucket tracker, I tried to install i386
versions of libraries required by TortoiseHG:

https://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/thg/issue/3349

$sudo apt-get install python-qscintilla2:i386 libqscintilla2-9:i386
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libqscintilla2-9:i386 : Depends: libqscintilla2-l10n:i386 (= 2.7.2) but it is
not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

libqscintilla2-l10n is listed as having all architecture on
packages.ubuntu.com, but libqscintilla2-9:i386 : Depends:
libqscintilla2-l10n:i386.

2 - When trying to install the i386 version of QT4 for Python, apt-get
is trying to remove something like 170 amd64 Python related packages and
replace them with the i386 versions. Not sure if that's how it's
supposed to be.

That's why I unmarked this bug as duplicate of bug #1223417. The
inaccessibility of the other bug might be an error of launchpad or
simply the consequence of the other bug still being marked as 'private',
'security relevant' or something similar.
