[Bug 1241837] Re: Layout changing from keyboard doesn't change the current layout in taskbar
When downloaded update - my issue was fixed. When I login - indicator menu changing. But in login screen (where I enter the password) I cannot change the keyboard layout using keyboard shortcut (only with mouse). Same in unlock screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241837 Title: Layout changing from keyboard doesn't change the current layout in taskbar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-keyboard/+bug/1241837/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1241837] Re: Layout changing from keyboard doesn't change the current layout in taskbar
No, I didn't use any setxkbmap trick. I choosed Alt + Shift when installed the previous version of Ubuntu and did not change this shortcut since then. I got these keyboard problems when upgraded to 13.10. Looked at keyboad settings. According to them, I should change a keyboad layout with Super + Space and Shift + Super + Space. Pressing Super + Space changes nothing (neither indicator nor actual language is switched). Pressing Shift + Super + Space changes actual language, but doesn't change indicator (during switching popup with languages is shown). Pressing Alt + Shift changes actual language, but doesn't change indicator (there is no any popups during switching). If I change the setting from Super + Space to Alt + Shift (in dialog Shift + Alt + Next Group is shown - I don't know what is Next Group) doesn't change behavior: Pressing Alt + Shift changes actual language, but still doesn't change indicator. That indicator can only changed with mouse. But I want to change it with Alt + Shift.
Additional info: When I changed settings to Alt + Shift (in dialog Shift + Alt + Next Group is shown) and rebooted - then Alt + Shift stopped working. When I changed setting to Ctrl + Shift then: 1) Ctrl + Shift changes actual language and indicator 2) Alt + Shift still changes actual language but not indicator (why??? I changed this setting to Ctrl + Shift) I think: 1) The magical Next Group breaks Alt + Shift keyboard shortcut. 2) Several shortcuts doesn't work (for example Sup + Space, Alt + Shift) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241837 Title: Layout changing from keyboard doesn't change the current layout in taskbar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-keyboard/+bug/1241837/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for your bug report, is the selected item in the indicator menu changing? Could you try if the gnome-settings-daemon version in saucy-proposed fixes the issue for you? ** Changed in: indicator-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: indicator-keyboard (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241837 Title: Layout changing from keyboard doesn't change the current layout in taskbar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-keyboard/+bug/1241837/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1241837] Re: Layout changing from keyboard doesn't change the current layout in taskbar
I assume you have tried to trick the system and used setxkbmap or something similar to activate Alt+Shift. Right? Indicator relies on different switching mechanism and is not compatible with setxkbmap as I understand. Actually you can try to use Sup+Space or Sup+Shift+Space and indicator will 'switch' languages but actually language will not be switched.
