Mario Kleinsasser, given how your lspci.txt is verbatim with
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1239183 I'm going to mark
a duplicate. However, please do not post any further comments until you have
updated your BIOS to the latest as per Acer (v2.22) and posted the following
with the new BIOS:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

[Bug 1245424] Re: [Acer Aspire V5-573G] Black screen on boot due to low brightness setting

2013-10-29 Thread Mario Kleinsasser
Did a bit LKML research and found an interesting thread
http://marc.info/?t=13783778615&r=1&w=2

The post by Benjamin Tissoires describes the problem, but I cannot find
a true follow up on this...? -> http://marc.info/?l=linux-

[Bug 1245424] Re: [Acer Aspire V5-573G] Black screen on boot due to low brightness setting

2013-10-28 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.12 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.
