[Bug 1245819] Re: RT3290 driver keeps disconnecting.

2013-11-30 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Graeme Pietersz, as per
http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=5229457spf_p.tpst=swdMainspf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3DswEnvOID%253D4059%257CswLang%253D%257Caction%253DlistDriverjavax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetokenjavax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken#BIOS
an update is available for your BIOS (F.43). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it
doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1245819] Re: RT3290 driver keeps disconnecting.

2013-11-03 Thread Graeme Pietersz
Evan, my disconnet time is much shorter.

I now have an issue that may or may not be related to the kernel
upgrade: unity-panel-services takes 100% of a CPU after running for a
few minutes.

2013-10-31 Thread Evan Derickson
Graeme, how long will your connection last before you get a disconnect?
I may have the same bug; I'm getting anywhere from 30~90 minutes before
losing connection. I will try the 3.12 kernel as well.

[Bug 1245819] Re: RT3290 driver keeps disconnecting.

2013-10-30 Thread Graeme Pietersz
Seems to work with 3.12 kernel, although I have not yet had it running
very long. There have been no unexpected disconnects, and it reconnects
after suspend (which previously required removing and reloading the
module).

2013-10-29 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.12 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.
