It looks racy - it does come up properly, but very rarely. If it does come up in dual-screen mode, $ service lightdm restart, causes it to loose of the screens (turn black). Upon login, the other display shows lightdm background with (13.10) instantly which is later replaced by my user background. Hm downgrading lightdm didn't fix things.
